How to use it

One set takes 10 to 20 minutes. Do it somewhere quiet, with the light in front of you, the way you would on the day.

  1. Pick a track and 3 or 5 questions

Choose the kind of role you are applying for, or Mixed. Questions are drawn at random, with no repeats in a set.

  2. Prepare for 30 seconds

Read the question and plan one real example. Start early if you are ready.

  3. Answer for up to 3 minutes

Talk to the camera, or to the timer if you prefer. Stop as soon as you have finished.

  4. Keep it or use your second try

Watch the take back, then keep it or record once more. The second try is final.

  5. Run the STAR self-check

Tick what your answer really did and read what a strong answer shows, plus one tip.

The 30 seconds, 3 minutes and 2 tries mirror common settings. Employers set their own timings and number of tries, and some allow no retries, so read your invite first.
